Wireless connection for Deskjet 3054A printer using MacBook Pro

I just got a new router and need help connecting my Deskjet 3054A printer.  New router does not have WPS connection option.  PIN setup asks me to enter the PIN into "router's configuration page".  Where is that on the MacBook Pro?  I have no idea where the router configuration page is and could use more specific instructions on how to connect using the PIN method.

Wireless print stopped working

Hp officejet 6700 and HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl laptop running windows 7.  Printing wirelessly from computer worked well most of morning and then suddenly stopped with error message on computer of lost connection.  Reinstalled the network connection on the printer, ok. rebooted the computer, problem not solved.  Hooked up a cable and the printer responded just fine.  Also tried a scan sent wirelessly to the computer and it worked fine too.  Could the wireless driver have gotten corrupted somehow?  All ideas welcome.

Cannot connect Photosmart C4780 to wireless network

Hi.

I have a HP Photosmart C4780 printer that I'm trying to connect to our wireless network, from my Mac (OS X 10.8.4)

I am trying to install the printer on my MacBook using the CD provided with the printer.  The software installs, and then I get stuck at the setup. I get the message "No Wireless Network Discovered". I check the box saying " type in our network name, and get the message "Device Not Connected: To configure the network settings of the selected device, please connect it temporarily via USB. The device can be disconnected from the USB once the network settings are transferred."  I plug the USB cable into my Mac, hit "OK", then "Continue".

Now the message I get is: "Network Unavailable: The selected Wi-Fi Network "xxx" is not within the reach of the device." (Note: the device is about a foot away from the router).  Hitting "Retry" yeilds the same error message - and I'm stuck.

The wireless function on the printer is on. I restored the network default settings on the printer. The router is a D-Link DIR-826L Wireless N600 Dual Band Gigabit Cloud Router.  The router is new to us - we had no issues with our old D-Link router (but it died so had to be replaced).

Any help would be appreciated!

Computer cannot connect wirelessly to new HP 7520

I am trying to set up my new HP 7520 and am having minimal luck.  Here are the details:

  • I am running 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, and am using a user account with Administrative privileges.
  • I have successfully connected the printer to my network (internal IP address 192.168.2.5), and it has successfully downloaded an update.  In addition, when I check my router's webpage, the printer is showing up on the DHCP client list.
  • I'm posting this message from the computer via a wireless connection, so the wireless card and the router are themselves functioning.
  • During initial setup, I was able to successfully print the floral test photo on photo paper
  • I've deleted the printer from my system, and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software
  • I've run the Print and Scan Doctor several times, and it has been unsuccessful in connecting to the printer, though it was able to shake a single page document loose from the print queue to be printed the first time I ran it, but that's the last connection I've been able to make.
  • When I follow the instructions on the HP Customer Support Troubleshooting page "'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP printer Will Not Print", the Properties dialog box for the printer entry in my Devices and Printers screen only shows two tabs, General and Hardware, and the General tab does not have a Location field or anything similar.
  • When I enter the printer's IP address into my browser, I don't get the EWS page, I get a connection timeout message.

EDIT:  Here are two three other notes

  • I'm running the standard Windows Firewall, and turning it completely off made no difference to the computer's ability to access the printer
  • Aside from my iPod and this computer, nothing else is connected to our wireless network
  • We're running WPA-Personal ( PSK ) security on the router

My gut is telling me this is a weird Windows 7 permissions problem, but I really have no idea how to diagnose it at this point.  The weirdest part is that I have gotten a couple of things to print, but I can't even get those things to work.  This seems like a nice printer, I just can't get it to cooperate.  Help!

Photosmart C4795 Wireless. Won't communicate with Mac Computer unless its through Ethernet cable

Hello,

I recently just purchased a new router (MediaLink) and had to change the name of my wifi account. Before, my printer was communicating and working perfectly with my Macbook Pro (10.6.8). Since I installed the new router, my printer is not being recognized by the computer. It states it is "not connected."

My first step:

I used HP Setup Assistant to reinstall my printer and configure it to the new wifi name.

It went through and connected to the internet, HOWEVER, when I got to the IP page, with the printer connected via USB, it said that "Device is not connected" and mentioned that my COMPUTER was not communicating with the wifi (even though I had full bars and was on the internet at the time).

Then I unplugged the printer and plugged in the ETHERNET Cable directly from the router and the printer was immediately recognized. I was in the other room and printing. But when I unplugged the ethernet cable, the printer disapeared! and went back to its original state! "Not connected/found"

My second step:

I proceeded to search MANY online forums AND call HP (they were no help since my warrenty is out) and did a few different steps:

Uninstalled and reinstalled HP setup and software

Downloaded softwere compatable with Mac Os 10.6.8

Unplugged printer, computer, and router and then replugged it in

Reset printer

Reset printer to factory settings

Reset printing system on my computer via system preferences

Tried manually adding printer via IP address

Adding printer normally from system pref. (the printer was not found UNLESS I was plugged into the Ethernet cable)

AND I HAVE HAD NO LUCK AT ALL!!! Before the new router, the printer has been fine! and was so easy!! What is happening and what can I do to fix it? Im considering purchasing a new printer Im so frustrated.

Please help!

Thank you.

HP Officejet 8600 PRO plus freezes since software upgrade

I recently updated the printer software and switched to a verizon "jetpack" router made by Novatel Wireless.  Since then this printer will freeze regardless of the PC which is being used. Meaning none of the icons can be selected nor can I print to it.  On occasion I will notice every light off on the printer except the power button which is cycling on and off. At either of these points the power button will not work.  The only solution at that point is to unplug the power cord. Then plug power cord back in,  and power up the printer at which point jobs in the queue will print.

This printer has always been connected via wireless router. Previous router was a Lynksys current router is Verizon Jet Pack All PCs are Windows 7.  The settings are:  wireless on. Wireless direct off.  Connecting the printer via USB and using the Print and Scan Doctor did not fix this issue.  Suggestions?

My Officejet 6500A Plus will not print complete page in wireless mode

When printing any documents, big or small, my 6500A Plus prints a couple sentences per page... and takes about 2 minutes between.  So to print a word document with 3 paragraphs... paragraph 1 comes out on a page after 2 mins... then 2 minutes later the second paragraph comes out on a seperate page... and so on.  The wireless router (d-link N speed) is in the same small room (is 8 feet away) with nothing in between to cause interference.  Can watch you tube videos in high definition on the other side of the house via wireless so I know it is not the network speed/bottleneck.  If I connect a network cable... it prints perfectly.

The document to print is a simple work document with no graphics or compicated items.  It's almost like the printer can only process a few sentences at a time... then goes back to get the next coupld and prints them

Hooking up a wireless HP Printer with a cable

I have an HP C7280 all in one printer.  I use it at home with wireless.  When we go on vacation, I take the printer and my laptop with me.  There's no wifi, so last year I brought a cable to go between my laptop and the printer.   It worked well, except for scanning.  It would usually get a page or two into the scan, and then quit.   Once I got home and went wireless, it was fine.  I had used a chead cable - is it possible that I need to use a specific cable that can handle scanning?

My 6700 has stopped communicating with my home network.  The printer and router are in the same room but the printer can't seem to located the router.  I've had the printer for over a year now and have not had problems.  I have three notebooks/laptops that are connected wirelessly.

Anyone have this problem or any thoughts on the loss of connectivity?

Unable To Communicate With Printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 (Network)

I recently purchased an HP Officejet Pro 8600. One morning a couple weeks ago I tried to print something and I received a prompt saying "Unable to Communicate with Printer (Network)". I turned off the printer and turned it back on which did not help, I then turned off my wireless network, turned it back on and still nothing. I finally figured out that I first have to turn off the printer, then turn off my wireless router wait thirty seconds, turn the router back on and the turn the printer back on. After these steps my printer was working. The next morning the same thing happened "Unable to Communicate with Printer (Network)" and I've been replaying Groundhog's Day ever since.

Please help!

I have an HPC410A e-print all in one (wireless) printer on my home network. I can print from the internet directly, and I can print from my wife's laptop with no problems. The problem is I can't print from my laptop (Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5337, Windows 7 64Bit home premium). I have used several diagnostic tools . The message I got was that a document was stuck in que and preventing any other documents from being printed. It also said the problem had been fixed. However I still can't print. I have repeated the process several times. Windows says my driver is up to date, my printer is the default and is ready. I am stuck! Can anybody help me?

Changing wireless router on HP Photosmart Plus B210

I recently upgraded my cable modem and Airport Extreme to a combination modem/router from Comcast..an Arris TG862.

After getting everything hooked up and running I noticed that the printer's wireless radio button wasn't accessible. I called Comcast support and their only solution to getting the printer working wirelessly was to use the old router and bypass the router on the new combo unit. I did this and the printer works, but that kind of defeats the purpose of trying to go simple. I tried to reinstall the printer from scratch but nothing I do allows me to change the router information. The menus on the printer don't help because I can't get to any them if it isn't seeing the router. Any ideas on how to start from scratch or update the router information?

Mac running OS X (10.6.8) won't connect by network to Photosmart Premium C309g-m

Here's my set-up: I have a simple, one router home network using a Verizon Actiontec MI424WR-GEN2 (firmware version is 20.19.8, if that's important). I have a Photosmart Premium C309g-m connected BY WIRE to the router. I've assigned the printer a static IP address.  I have several wireless laptops connected to the network. I have two Windows boxes (Ver 7 & 8) and two Linux boxes (Mint and Ubuntu) that can connect, print and scan over the network to this printer just fine.

Here's my simple text-only diagram:

      IP: 192.168.1.2               IP: 192.168.1.61

Mac ~~~~~ Wireless ~~~~~~ Router ******* Wired ******* Printer

The problem is the one Mac OS X (Ver 10.6.8). At one time, it worked with this printer. Then one day, it just stopped. That was many months ago. I've not had to deal with it because it wasn't that important. Now it is.

On the Mac, I've deleted all previous HP software using the HP Uninstaller app. Now, when I try to load the latest drivers for this printer on the Mac, I try to use the "Add device by IP". I type in the IP address and all it says is, "The installer could not connect to your device. Check the IP address, make sure the device is powered on, and try again." From the Mac, i can open the network utility and ping the printer with no problem. I can also open up the web browser and go to the device page for the printer and see the ink levels, etc. But the installer fails totally, completely and miserably.

Any thoughts?

Wireless computer and printer on Uverse 2Wire router but not communicating with e/o

So I have a HP All in One wireless printer which is connected to the Uverse 2Wire router-done through the Wizard on the physical machine and my desktop that has wireless connection to the same router.  I am able to go on the internet so I know it's working as it should.  Why can I not send a message from my PC to the router then through the router to my printer?  If I connect the printer directly to the router with a cable then send a print request it'll work of course.  When I try to use the CD to install the printer again, it can't find the printer on the network, even when I delete it and try to get it into the network again.  I am using the WPA encryption with a password etc...any ideas?  I'm going crazy trying to search for this exact problem and solution.  I think I need to get into my router settings and change something but not sure what.  Help. Please.
