8500A connection problems

have been receiving error messages ("printer is not connected") when trying to print wirelessly via laptop and mobile devices as well as directly from PC.  display screen on printer is black and power button is locked in "on" position.  Have tried to unplug and plug back in...this worked for awhile but no longer seems to help.  Even after several hours, display is black and power button is locked in "on position".  Any suggestions for a relatively non-technical person?  Is it worth trying to replace cables?  The one that I unplug and plug back in is the one with the royal-blue connection end.  Thanks in advance.

P1102W Changed routers and now won't connect Wireless

Hello

I have a Laserjet P1102w that i had connected and running perfectly on my old router. I have since upgrade to a new router and ever since then i can't get it to connect to save my life. I have tried running the disc that it came with, downloading the new up to date installation software from HPs website, ran the Wireless configuration set up from All Programs>HP. nothing wants to work. I get through most of the installation until i have to connect to the network, once i get there it never knows what network to connect to so i select my network. it then attempts to get the network credentials and then fails with the following message. "The Printer was unable to communicate with any wireless router or access point using the provided SSID" I then tried disabling my Antivirus and my firewall, same result, i tried removing all security on my router, same result, i tried use the Virual WPS button by accessing the router directly, same result. As you can guess my frustration level is growing lol

Tech info - Computer windows 7 Home Prem (SP1 & all updates)

Router - Linksys E2500 (with most up to date firmware)

Printer - HP Laserjet P1102w

LJ 4050 PCL 5, wired network, win8.1, very long between pages.

I have Dell Inspirion  15R with Win 8.1, printing to 4050 over wired network.  Print speed per page is fine, but the printer will print 1-2 pages, then pause, then print some more.  Only the "processing" msg on the printer tells me it is still working. I use same laptop on a wireless network to a different HP printer and there is no delay between pages. Others using Windows 7 do not have same problem. Driver is the latest.  Is this a problem with port or print queue ?

Thanks

My Mac says "The printer is not connected". I use a MacBook Pro and an HP Photosmart 7520

My Mac says "The printer is not connected". It seems the only way I can print anything on my HP Photosmart 7520 nowadays is to turn the printer off then back on.

I was doing well before this last Software update "HP Printer Software Update" Version 2.16.1 I downloaded on March 21, 2014. Before then, when it was working properly, the printer would "wake-up" when I need to print anything. Now it seems it's asleep and even when I click the screen to get it to turn on, it won't print. I still would need to either turn the printer off then back on or turn the wireless function on the printer off then back on, hoping that it prints.

I use a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.2. I use the newest version of the Apple Airport Extreme and get my internet connectivity through Comcast.

Please advise.

Best regards,

James

Exactly what Wi-Fi Settings Are Supported?

$

I have several HP printers (PSC2510 & DJ6700 to name just two), and I would like to know exactly what is supported with these machines in terms of Wi-Fi standards?  It's pretty vague on the packaging as to exactly what works and what is a subset of the supported protocols.

For example...

Will they connect to networks that have the SSID broadcast set to "off"?  Most wireless NIC's have this option in their drivers - and it really enhances security by not broadcasting your network's name to the rest of the world.

Are they 2.4Ghz and/or 5Ghz?  I have a dual band router, and would like to use the best connection method.

Any other details or "gotcha's"  (like passphrase length) other than WEP encryption isn't supported?

Found a possible fix to HP 7520 network printing problems

My problem, as seems to have been reported frequently, is that although my HP 7520 printer is active on my wireless network (i.e., printer network diagnostics all OK and printer can receive HP ePrint jobs), my home computers have generally been unable to submit print jobs directly to the printer.  The error is something like "Unable to Connect blah blah blah".  I used all the methods documented in HP Support articles, and nothing resolved the problem.  I am using a Verizon wireless router, Westell A90-9100EM15-10 (http://westell.com/support/ultraline-series3/a90-9100em15-10) running FW version 50.03.00.10.  After poking around at random, I found the printer's web interface (i.e., at 192.168.1.20) and found an option in the Network -> Wireless (802.11) -> Advanced webpage.  At the very bottom in the "Compatibility" section, there are two options: "In an infrastructure network use 802.11b behavior." and "In an infrastructure network use 802.11b/g behavior."  Neither were checked.  Since my router was configured for both 802.11b/g, I checked the second option.  After clicking "Apply" and allowing the printer to re-connect to the network I do not have the same kinds of printer problems.  I have not done enough follow up testing to be certain, and in one case, a laptop on a wireless connection to my 7520 printer did not seem to be able to connect.  I used the Command terminal and pinged my printer.  Once I did that, the laptop was able to detect the printer, and I was able to submit a print job.  I will follow up in the next day or so to report whether or not I have any further problems.

Here is a screen shot of the HP 7520 configuration webpage I mentioned, and I've circled in blue the option I changed.

I can't keep my printer connected. I get connected then a few min. later i'm disconneceted again. I've chatted with HP twice, gotten emails from them on how to resolve the issue, nothing works. Nothing has changed on network or pc, network works fine. I had another hp printer in the same location for several years, never lost a connection. One chat rep said he thought it was the printer. HP has not offered to repair/replace the unit, i do have their Care Pack & have emailed the CEO's Office about the issue and Case Mgr. so far no results on replacing from the Case Mgr. I sent another email to the CEO tonight telling them of my issue.

Thanks,

Tom

I can't find the WEP key for HP's Officejet 7400 Series

I tried looking up how to find it and everything I got a bunch of weird things to download which I didn't because I shouldn't have to download something to find this key. I'm trying to connect the printer to our network. Our router went out the other day and we got a new one and now it's password protected the other one before wasn't. I cannot connect this computer to the printer I'm guessing because It's not hooked up to our network. However, my mom can. I tried that weird website 192 168 stuff but it just came up with the password we use for logging into the network and it doesn't work. Even with the uppercase and lowercase sensitive it doesn't work. How can I find the WEP key for this? Or is it the WPA or WPA2 how would I find these keys?

HP6700 can't connect to IP address - can't connect to server

I recently changed print cartridges in my printer and now my printer cannot be found by the network. It previously worked and had no problem with wireless printing

I am on a private network at home.

I have tried changing the IP address on the printer itself - setting it to static. I have printed the Wireless Network Test Results which say that everything passes and I'm connected however the computer can't find the printer and I can't get updates (unable to connect, the printer could not connect to the server).

IP address: 192.168.1.116

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Also, I am unable to connect to the EWS when I type in the IP address on my web browser. It says it cannot connect to the IP address.

I have a MacBook Pro.

PLEASE HELP!

issues with officejet 4635

I cannot connect my Officejet4635 at all. I've tried installing the doctors or driver wizard but I keep getting notifications that there is no internet connection (although I am actively connected to the internet). When I try to go through the setup wizard in the CD version of the printer driver, it gets stuck about halfway on the "Checking Network Environment" screen.

Please help.

HP Photosmart 7520 won't reconnect to Wirless after sleep - Considering taking back soon

Ok, I am about to take this HP Photosmart 7520 printer back to Costco and get an Epson. Because I have seen a tonof posts about people having trouble with this printer not waking up when a print job is sent from the client. I am not alone!

I have tried a ton of fixes. I am an IT professional. Tried changing the built in diagnostic system sleep settings to zero, after doing the home, return, home, cancel. Tried setting a fixed IP address. Even configured my router to wake on LAN to the MAC address of the printer, updated drives and firmware. Umong other things, nothing works.

Then I see a post about calling HP Support. So as a last resort I thought I would give it a shot. How upsetting that was. The guy said I had a trojan! That was incorrect. He attempted to get me to pay $99 to fix something that was bogus. He tried to explain to me the network was broken between my modem and router and that all my computers were affected. CSRSS.exe is a trojan yes BUT its is also a ligit MS EXE that supports blue screens and video! If CSRSS.exe was really a trojan living on my Win7 computer wouldn't shutting off my Win7 computer stop the "bad network" activities thus my Windows 8 computer would print just fine? How come I can't print when a single iPad is online in my network? How come it prints fine only after I manually wake it up? He went on saying that the printers are sensitive to networks and that a trojan will affect it. If that were true, a printer should not be so sensitive that having a trojan on one computer in an entire network disallows all other computers to print? That would be awful design, especially if that printer was in a corporate setting with 100's of computers, it may never print right!

Come on... thats just simply poor support.

So, I ask HP guru's what do you have that I can try? Last chance before I take it back.
